Office of Broadband Development at State of Minnesota
Danna MacKenzie serves as the Executive Director of the Minnesota Office of Broadband Development, which is responsible for broadband planning and policy statewide. In this role, she oversees a portfolio of $65 million dollars in broadband infrastructure investments across the state and works with the Governor, legislators, providers, and communities to help inform and guide the adoption of effective state broadband policies. Danna has 23 years of experience working with internet providers and communities on broadband issues; ranging from deploying county-wide wired and wireless networks, to building an ISP in 1994 for the purpose of serving emerging local business needs, to working with a non-profit foundation to expand the capacity of rural MN communities to leverage the power of broadband.
This panel will explore two different, successful state models for financing broadband networks.
